Reporting to the Chief International Programs Officer and
working closely with the Evaluation, Learning and Editing Manager, you will be
primarily responsible for directing the development, implementation, monitoring
and assessment of projects and programs targeting the people, communities and
civic agencies of the various developing countries in which ONE DROP operates.
You will be required
to:
• Manage a team of
five experienced project managers;
• Take part in
establishing and monitoring the budget under your responsibility;
• Develop, assess and
follow up on all approaches, strategies, work plans and operations of
international water access and management projects and programs;
• Oversee the
development and management of specific microfinance projects while providing
support to the selected partners;
• Provide support at
any time for ongoing projects and projects in development;
• Oversee the
development of organizational diagnostics for selected local partners and study
plans to strengthen their capabilities;
• Analyze results,
develop approaches and recommend improvements with regard to ;strategies,
standards and procedures, as well as funding for microfinance loans, in order
to guarantee initiatives that meet requirements;
• Represent the management team at various forums, promote
the unique ONE DROP approach and strengthen relations with partners
• Organize and attend
various management committee and board meetings.
The ideal candidate
will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
• Master’s degree in
a relevant field an asset;
• Minimum ten years’
experience in project management in the international cooperation field;
• Minimum three
years’ experience working in a developing country;
• Experience with
microfinance;
• Experience managing
teams and budgets;
• Strategic thinking
and ability to put strategies into practice;
• Ability to lead and
focus on results;
• Ability to make an
impact and to influence others;
• Ability to delegate
and to manage effective teams;
• Creativity,
enterprising spirit and self-assurance;
• Ability to work
under pressure in a dynamic, changeable, multicultural environment;
• Solid knowledge of
the MS Office suite;
• Fluency in French
and English, both spoken and written;
• Fluency in Spanish
a definite asset;
• Availability to
travel (about 30% of the time).
