As a key member of the Supply Management Team, supporting Completions within the Canadian Division, the Contract Purchasing Analyst will use their business knowledge to identify opportunities that increase value to the organization, manage relationships with vendors and provide Supply Management support and expertise to internal stakeholders.  This role will appeal to organized individuals with proven negotiation and excellent relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

  •     act as point contact for major services within the Completions Supply Management for the Canadian Division
  •     identify and implement new opportunities to provide best value to the organization through sound strategy development/execution, effective negotiation, and process improvement
  •     collaborate with Technical Solutions, and Technology & Development teams to identify new innovations and technologies
  •     align purchasing activities for major services with the goals and objectives of the Divisional Supply Strategy
  •     ensure that business controls and purchasing strategies follow Encana’s procurement guidelines
  •     facilitate and coordinate tendering process as well as creating and maintaining service agreements
  •     track and report market intelligence and activity levels in the service sector
  •     establish a strong vendor base that is committed to safety, cost competitiveness, quality, and continuous improvement
  •     provide regular communications to vendors, stakeholders, Business Unit and Supply Management leadership

Qualifications
 

  •     must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  •     B.Comm / P. Eng - or a related/equivalent degree - from a post-secondary institution
  •     a minimum of 10 years in Oil & Gas Supply Management with a completions focus is preferred
  •     deep and extensive knowledge in Completions such as fracturing, coil tubing, production testing, and wireline services
  •     financial and technical analysis skills with the ability to research and disseminate data, report on the data, and analyze the findings
  •     excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  •     possess strong time and project management skills
  •     strong working knowledge of contractual terms and conditions
  •     proven negotiation skills
  •     collaborate with business partners to develop and execute contract management strategy
  •     PMAC purchasing or supply chain professional designation would be an asset
  •     proficient with MS Office Suite and other computer applications
  •     must be able to make strategic decisions using independent judgment in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines

Strategic Planning, Supply Management and Continuous Improvement
The Strategic Planning, Supply Management and Continuous Improvement team is responsible for strategic initiatives and business cycle processes; supporting strategic planning models to enhance budget and production deliverables; and leading purchasing commitments for the Canadian Division. This team also specializes in surface and subsurface mapping and Executive presentations.
