It is the mission of the Natural Gas Economy Team to establish natural gas as the foundation of North America’s energy portfolio.
Encana Natural Gas Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and growth oriented Maintenance Technician to contribute to the Natural Gas Economy Operations team. This position will support multiple operating facilities and report to the Maintenance Coordinator in Calgary. The successful candidate will support the administration of the computerized maintenance management system, development of maintenance plans for new and existing equipment, execution of periodic maintenance efforts, and participation in the field equipment commissioning team for LNG and CNG fueling infrastructure. This effort would require regular travel to field locations.
The successful candidate will join a multidiscipline North American focused team that is expanding the use of natural gas on the continent.
This position is suited to an individual with strong hands-on oil/gas maintenance and operational background.
Responsbilities
- support mechanical integrity program and ensure maximum reliability of CNG / LNG fueling infrastructure
- support the administration of the Computerized Maintenance Management System including: data entry, purchase orders, running reports, inventory control, completing work orders, generating follow-on work orders, filing completed work orders, and maintain equipment specification sheets
- develop/schedule/complete periodic maintenance plan (i.e. mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc) for each facility
- track operation and maintenance consumables as well as key spare parts and maintain inventory as needed
- support facilities compliance with NFPA 52 and other applicable standards for natural gas fueling installations
- become familiar with construction and installation requirements for CNG / LNG fueling infrastructure
- develop skill set in operating / trouble-shooting all CNG / LNG fueling infrastructure
- support CNG/LNG emergency response requirements (i.e. on-call, training, etc)
- participate in field commissioning of equipment as needed
- customer support and training of fueling equipment
- assist in identifying sales leads and promote use of CNG / LNG facilities
Qualifications
- must be legally entitled to work in Canada – ability to travel to the US
- this is a safety sensitive position
- rotational on call position and weekends when necessary
- 5+ years of progressive maintenance/operations experience in oil and gas operations
- preference will be given to those that hold an electrical trade certification
- standard field based EHS training required
- problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- strong data analysis skills
- well developed communication skills
- demonstrated high safety standards
- experience with eMaint CMMS would be an asset
- valid drivers license required
- excellent computer skills and database knowledge
- must be physically able to reach and work on elevated surfaces, confined spaces, lift 50lbs and work outdoors in local weather conditions
- knowledge of CNG and LNG industry a plus
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills required
