Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Flatbed, Van, Refrigerated
Type of Travel: Local, Regional, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Plan travel schedules and routes, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making
