The Technical Services Team requires an Integrity\Reliability Engineer to support its Canadian Operations. As a member of the Facilities Engineering & Construction team, your role depends on a strong relationship with the production-based Business Unit (BU) staff. This position would be located in Calgary with a requirement to travel and support the various operating locations in Western Canada.


Responsibilities

  •     review and update Encana’s Specifications, Best Practices and Recommended Practices
  •     work with internal customers on technical and regulatory issues regarding pressure equipment and pipelines activities may include, engineering assessments and fitness for service analysis
  •     participate in implementation and maintenance of our quality management system for pressure equipment and pipelines activities may include, shop inspections and external or  internal audits
  •     verify by audit that Supplier and Sub-Contractor QC activities are implemented in line with agreed ITP’s
  •     facilitate/conduct Root Cause investigations on equipment failures within Encana facilities
  •     produce technical advisories and follow up on recommendations for implementation
  •     help to develop key performance measures and reporting for equipment reliability, safety and quality
  •     develop and promote practices to reduce the life-cycle costs of equipment
  •     analyze incident and equipment failure reports to identify reliability improvement opportunities and contribute to their implementation


Qualifications
  •     must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  •     Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineer or Technologist with
  •     APEGA Professional Engineer or ASET Certified Technologist with 7+ years of related experience in the oil and gas industry
  •     must have knowledge of API, ASME and CSA codes, with familiarity of ABSA and ERCB pressure equipment regulations and directives
  •     root cause failure analysis (RCFA) training and experience
  •     related experience in integrity & reliability (maintenance, fabrication, construction, QA/QC, etc.) an asset
  •     ability to work independently with minimal direction
  •     strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  •     ability to write and communicate technical investigation reports as well as organize and track status of recommendations
  •     good verbal communications skills
  •     strong interpersonal skills, with proven experience providing service support
  •     willingness to complete courses obtaining certification in API 510, 570 and 653
  •     valid driver’s license

Canadian Division
