Narrative Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Commercial Services, the successful incumbent
will be responsible for the development, design and global delivery of the IATA Training and Development Institute's (ITDI) products and services across all market segments:

Airlines, Cargo Companies, Airports, Civil Aviation Authorities and Travel & Tourism Groups.

Responsibilities

  •     Establish and manage the ITDI strategy and growth planLead the preparation and implementation of business and marketing plans for the Institute.
  •     Ensure effective management of all ITDI academic and business development activities.
  •     Identify new business opportunities, and coordinate training agreements with international organisations.
  •     Coordinate the development, design, production, marketing and delivery of educational products and services across all segments, and drive New Product Development and the creation of integrated training solutions.
  •     Lead through partnerships and multi-year agreements a network of schools and training institutes, and represent IATA at international meetings and conferences.
  •     Coordinate the activities of the IATA Training Centres, defining KPIs, schedule coordination, productivity optimization, and high quality standards.
  •     Prepare and manage the ITDI budget.
  •     Lead, direct, motivate, coach and supervise a multilingual and multicultural worldwide staff of training professionals.

Qualifications and Skills

  •     Master's degree in business administration, engineering or another relevant discipline.
  •     A minimum of 15 years of experience in the airline industry with at least 7 years of experience in a managerial role associated with aviation training.
  •     A track record of success in high-visibility leadership positions at the international level and in negotiating agreements with international authorities.
  •     An excellent understanding of current education methodologies and new technologies in learning, as well as a proven track record of developing, organising and delivering training courses, events, seminars, conferences, workshops and meetings.
  •     Proven track record in identifying and opening new markets and successfully launching new product streams.
  •     Outstanding leadership and management experience in a high-pressure, multicultural and international environment.
  •     Excellent networking, team-building and communication skills.
  •     Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams and to foster collaboration across functional and cultural lines.
  •     Fluency in English is essential, whilst knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
