Our client, an industrial manufacturer with offices across the country is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of the R&D team in Edmonton. You will be contributing to activities spanning design, product manufacturing, testing, and process improvements from the mechanical point of view.
Job Description:
- Develop designs and 3D models for products
- Identify and implement manufacturing requirements, processes, and improvements
- Be a pioneer of innovation; keeping an ear to the ground for market trends and competitors' products
- Coordinate with various teams to ensure deliverables are met on a timely manner
The company will expect from you:
- 2-3 years' experience in a mechanical product design role focusing on new consumer products
- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, PEng ideal, but not necessary
- Expertise in AutoCAD (AutoCAD MEP 2012 preferred); various design software skills essential
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility is mandatory
- Project management experience an asset
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong desire to excel and develop in a professional and team work environment
- Creativity to think outside the box
