Our client, a long-running consulting firm with presence throughout Western Canada is seeking a Senior Planner to be based out of its Edmonton office. Given your tremendous experience in the field, you will be tasked with overall planning, scheduling and coordination for multi-million dollar projects with accordance to Alberta's legislation and planning system. Job Description:
- Supervising a team of planners, you will prepare and maintain an itemized project work breakdown and integrated master schedule
- Perform float analysis to create contingency, recovery plans and schedule compression techniques
- Coordinate with key project stakeholders (contractors, subcontractors, etc.) , analyzing risk and progress then updating schedules accordingly
- Prepare timely reports to monitor progress against forecasted schedule
The company will expect from you:
- 5-10 years progressive land use planning experience--land use policy and transit-oriented development essential
- Sound knowledge of engineering aspects pertaining to regulatory land use, transit development, urban design and GIS analysis
- Familiar with the approval process in Edmonton or a similar municipality
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated management experience and strong communication skills to build strong relations with staff and clients
